I'm Caitlin. I recently massively upgraded my photography equipment and decided to enjoy photography as a more serious hobby. I take a lot of pictures of myself and my cat, but I'm also starting to take my camera many more places to learn how to take better photos. I love constructive criticism and only want to improve my photography skills, which are currently quite weak.

Ooh, and first comment! Welcome to Deviant Art!

Your Rebel XSi is a great camera! - i just upgraded from it and loved every minute of it. I highly recommend you look into getting a lens like the EF-50mm f/1.8.
Its probably canons cheapest lens, but its regarded as one of its finest - super sharp and able to create amazing Bokeh. It deserves its title of the "Nifty Fifty".

Thank you very much, and I greatly appreciate the recommendation. I've had the camera for only a couple of weeks, but obviously I want to start taking photography as a more serious hobby. I'll definitely look into that lens when I'm confident enough to buy a second one.

No worries and i hope you enjoy the camera :) . I think the 50mm f/1.8 is only about $60 so it shouldn't kill the bank when the time comes.

Wow, that's it? Awesome. That will probably be my next upgrade, then. I am absolutely loving the camera, despite my frustration that comes from wanting to be a perfectionist. Practice makes perfect, though. :P
